TWO MORE WINS

Kingston last night, Seaway tonight.

Next stop: Sudbury and the Big Nickel tournament.

Cumberland Barons 5, Gloucester Rangers 3

We could have won it, if we had played a 20-minute third period, as we were supposed to.

That's not to take anything away from Cumberland. In the 45 minutes that we did play, they played better.

How often have I heard it in the dressing room? Any team in our league can beat any other team in our league.

RANGERS 2, BLAZERS 0

And the mightly have fallen.
Not only did we beat the unbeaten Kanata squad tonight, we shut 'em out! On top of that, we moved into first place overall despite both teams being 8-1, on the strength of a better goals for and against record.

An excellent effort by everyone on the team. You guys have set a high standard for yourselves, and proven that you can keep meeting the standard and nudging the bar a little higher.

Tomorrow morning: Bring on Cumberland, 11:20 at the Navan Arena.

Sweet dreams, boys. You deserve them.

RANGERS 6, STING 4

Not pretty, but as Coach John says, every good team finds a way to win.

VIDEO CAMERA NEEDED

If anyone has a video camera that they could bring to the Saturday night game against Kanata and record the game, it would be greatly appreciated. John wants a tape of the game, to review later with the players, possibly on the bus trip to Sudbury.

Please let John or Trainer Bob know if you can do this for us, or post a comment to this post below.

Thanks.

A couple things

First, this from Marie -- Mikey Burton's Mom:
I'd be happy to rent some movies for the bus ride. Maybe you can get John to poll the boys at the game Wed. and make a list of suggestions. I was thinking maybe Driving Miss Daisy or Terms of Indearment, my Husband Ray recommeded Slap Shot!!! Kidding. Get some suggestions form the kids. Anyway I was wondering (if not hoping) that the itinerary was going to include a few short stops along the way on the long non-smoking bus ride to Sudbury. HINT HINT

Marie

Um, Marie, Coach John has banned Slap Shot from the bus. Something about seeing it so often on so many hockey buses, he can recite it almost word for word ("oo howns da Chiefs?"). However, a couple of the boys were asking if we can bring Fried Green Tomatoes and Jane Eyre. Now I'm kidding. And you'll have to talk to Coach John and Manager Bob about smoke breaks.

And one quick note from me: I picked up a stick that someone left in the dressing room tonight. I'll have it with me tomorrow.

RANGERS ROCK!

TODAY'S NOTES

First, from the Coach:
Parents, our game vs Ottawa Sting on Wednesday, October 18th is actually being played at Barrett East Arena (20:20-21:50) and not Armstrong as it appears on the schedule. My mistake, sorry for the confusion. See you Tuesday at practice.
John

And, from our "little brothers" on the Minor PeeWee A team:
Wear the Ranger Colors with Pride
Many Ranger Teams have noticed and commented on the green, white and black felt scarves being worn by the Minor PeeWee A Team. As part of a fundraising initiative, these scarves are now being made available to all Ranger Teams --- It is a great way to show Ranger pride and team spirit! If you are interested in purchasing a scarf for $10.00, please contact our Manager, Tracy Bender (traceybender@sympatico.ca) or Kim Richer(Kim_Richer@occdsb.on.ca).

Golf Day

It looks like Max isn't in the photo, but if you look waaaayyyy behind us, he got impatient to get the golf game going, and was already three-quarters of the way up the first fairway!

Welcome to OUR Blog!

This is our spot to post news and whatever else concerning the Gloucester Rangers 2006-07 Major Bantam AA Hockey Team.

It's the least complicated, least expensive (no charge) way of keeping up with each other, schedule changes, boasting about our accomplishments, and so on.

So blog away. Add comments to any posting, and if you want to contribute a posting of your own, feel free to do that, too.
